Kirsten Dunst has spent more than three decades in Hollywood. But according to her, the secret to lasting in the business has nothing to do with fame, money, or awards. Instead, she says it all comes down to having “good friends and good family.”
The 43-year-old actress shared this at the Los Angeles premiere of her new film ‘Roofman’. While walking the red carpet, she spoke about how the people closest to her have helped her stay grounded through the ups and downs of a demanding industry.

“Good friends and good family,” she repeated with a smile when asked what has kept her steady after so many years. Dunst added that she feels proud to still be part of films that inspire her and give her joy. “I think that I just feel very proud that I can keep doing films that I want to do, and that the industry has embraced me still and keeps doing so. I really appreciate growing up, finding my path, and being part of making movies that mean a lot to me.”

Dunst’s journey began at a very young age. At just 11 years old, she starred alongside Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise in the 1994 gothic drama ‘Interview with the Vampire’. Her performance was so powerful that she earned a Golden Globe nomination.
She has often spoken warmly about her experience on that film. In a past interview, she recalled how the set, though mostly male, felt safe and respectful. “I was treated like a princess,” she said. She even remembered one special Christmas when Tom Cruise surprised her with a fully decorated tree in her dressing room.
That early success turned her into one of the most recognizable young talents in Hollywood. She later starred in films like the cheerleading comedy ‘Bring It On’ (2000) and Sam Raimi’s ‘Spider-Man’ (2002), where she played the iconic role of Mary Jane Watson opposite Tobey Maguire.
But despite her achievements, Dunst has not been afraid to speak about the struggles she faced as a woman in the industry. She has revealed that at one point she was paid far less than a male co-star, even though she had more acting credits at the time. “I didn’t even think to ask about equal pay,” she admitted in an earlier conversation.
Now, Kirsten Dunst is excited about her latest project, ‘Roofman’. The film tells the unusual true story of Jeffrey Manchester, played by Channing Tatum, a professional thief who escaped prison and hid out inside a Toys “R” Us store. Things take a complicated turn when he falls in love with a single mother, played by Dunst.
